ALICE Town Hall is our quarterly kick off event that we have held since we started in 2013. ALICE’s Town Hall typically consists of a presentation from the ALICE founders, a Culture session, guest speakers, workshops, a company party, breakout sessions for departments, and a presentation on the product roadmap for the quarter. Although ALICE Town Hall usually takes place in person in our NY office, this quarter our team was able to host a successful Virtual Town Hall week.
Day One: Founder's Presentation and Q&A Session
This year, we kicked off our virtual Q3 2020 Town Hall with a presentation by ALICE’s co-founders: ALICE President Alex Shahou, CEO Justin Effron, and CTO Dmitry Koltunov. The kickoff presentations were followed by a Q&A session with the co-founders. Following the Founder’s kickoff presentation, the team had the opportunity to hear from a Customer Panel with guest speakers from Montage and Graduate Hotels.
We also take time during Town Hall to recognize team members who exemplify our company values. Through our ALICE Value Awards, employees nominate their co-workers across teams to win the award based on how they’ve lived out those values the previous quarter.
Day Two: Marketing Presentation and Behaviors of Inclusion Workshops
To start off the second day of Town Hall, the Marketing Team gave a presentation discussing our achievements during the last quarter, and goals for the rest of the year. Following the Marketing presentation, the team took part in a virtual workshop from LifeLabs Learning. Our ALICE team members participated in the “Behaviors of Inclusion” interactive guided workshop to learn the psychology of unconscious bias and its impact at work. We were able to practice behaviors of inclusion - small habits that improve 1-1 interactions, gatherings, meetings, feedback, and decisions.
Day Three: Product Roadmap for Q3
As part of every Town Hall at ALICE, our Product team presents the roadmap for the next quarter. Each Product pod gave live demos of their product or feature to the rest of the company, and then takes questions from the team.
