ALICE Kicks off Q3 2019 with Town Hall Week

What is ALICE Town Hall?

ALICE Town Hall is our quarterly kick off event that we have held since we started in 2013. ALICE’s Town Hall typically consists of a presentation from the ALICE founders, a Culture session, guest speakers, workshops, a company party, breakout sessions for departments, and a presentation on the product roadmap for the quarter.

Day One: Founder's Presentation and Department Updates 

This year, we kicked off our Q3 2019 Town Hall in New York with a presentation by ALICE’s co-founders: ALICE President Alex Shahou, CEO Justin Effron, and CTO Dmitry Koltunov.  Following the Founder’s kickoff presentation, the Customer Success team, Product team, and Sales and Marketing Team all gave presentations discussing our achievements during the last quarter, and goals for the rest of the year.  The kickoff presentations were followed by a company lunch and a Q&A session with the co-founders.

Our Technology session always includes our Town Hall tradition, "Story Time with Shelley", with our VP of Quality.

One of our biggest celebrations of the quarter is that we launched our housekeeping product, and the team celebrated with our “Get Sheet Done” housekeeper uniforms (a play on our “Get Sh*t Done” company value). 

We also take time to recognize team members who exemplify our company values. Through our ALICE Value Awards, employees nominate their co-workers across teams to win the award based on how they lived out those values the previous quarter. 

Day Two: Culture Session and Workshops

Our second day of Town Hall included a feedback workshop from LifeLabs Learning.  Our ALICE team members participated in group activities and training to learn the most effective ways to give positive and negative feedback.  

After the LifeLabs presentation, we enjoyed lunch together in the office, and then headed over to Brooklyn to go to Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club for a fun night of friendly competition. 

Day 3: Product

Day three of ALICE’s Town Hall is hosted by our Product Team. The Product leadership reviewed the product roadmap for the rest of the year and then each Product pod gave live demos of their product or feature to the rest of the company. 

The Housekeeping product demo was presented by our very own "Alice".
